Here at The Efficient Boiler Company we understand how critical it is to keep your personal data safe and secure. We are committed to ensuring that you receive the most efficient service you expect from us, but that your privacy is protected when you choose to use us. This policy will explain how we collect and use the information you give to us. With this in mind, the information we collect and the way in that we use it falls in line with the new GDPR guidelines of May 2018. If you require more information or would like any help please get in touch with our team via our contact us page.
When you purchase from The Efficient Boiler Company, whether that’s a fully fitted boiler installation or any of our Efficient Care service plans, we must collect and store some of your personal details to make sure everything runs efficiently and you get the service you expect.
As you navigate your way through the website examples of the personal information we will collect are shown below:
The following information will also be collected and stored as this will help us understand your requirements and help us be as efficient as we possibly can. The relevant information will also be stored during your visit to our site in case you decide to ahead with the job. It is stored locally on the computer, tablet or mobile.
Property type e.g. flat or detached house
Property details e.g. number of bathrooms and radiators
Current boiler details
As a general rule we will store this information for 3 months in our secure database, the reason for this is that if you haven’t quite made up your mind, started a finance application or need time to decide we have already got the information we need to carry out planned works.
If you choose to pay by finance our third-party finance provider Phoenix Financial consultants will require additional information which will be shared with lenders to assess your suitability for our finance products.
During and just after the finance application process you may receive emails from Phoenix financial consultants. If you have any questions or concerns about how they use your personal information you can get in touch with them by emailing them at this address: email@example.com
If you choose to proceed with our boiler installation service we will ask for some photos of your property. We will put these into a portal where our engineers can look at prior to the installation date and to ensure that everything that you have chosen on the boiler picker journey is the correct requirements for your property. We need to store these photos so that we can send them to the Gas Safe installer who will be performing the work. In the unlikely event of any issues in the future we store these photos so that we have a record of how the heating in your home was looking before installation. We store these photos securely for 6 years after your installation date. This is necessary for legal compliance reasons such as Building Regulations.
After our installer has got your new boiler up and running they will take photos of the completed job so that we can check everything has gone to plan and the correct procedures have been followed. Once the job is signed off by our in-house engineers these photos are automatically deleted from the installer’s mobile application. We will keep the pictures stored on our system in the unlikely event that something needs to be addressed in the future.
Finally in order to send out your invoice and keep a record of the transaction we securely store information about your order indefinitely in our accounting systems, for example:
Your property type
Your installation date
The serial number of your boiler and filter
The product information of your boiler
How much you paid for the service
How you paid for the service
Any issues you had with the service
We don’t process data for any other purposes (such as marketing) without expressly asking your permission.
During the process of organising, installing and registering your boiler we may contact you by phone or email in order to check some details, let you know important information about the installation and also to check that you are happy with the service after our installer has completed the work.
If you choose to pay by finance, during and just after the finance application you may receive emails from Phoenix Finance (see section on Phoenix Finance above).
If you choose to opt-in to receive marketing from us (this is done by clicking the checkbox) we may get in touch with you by phone or email to let you know about new products and services.
We will only contact you about products & services which we think may be of interest and relevance to you based on your purchase history.
In order to provide our boiler installation service and conform with UK regulations we will need to notify the Gas Safe Register about your installation. This is a legal requirement. The information we share with them is below:
